With the fifth generation mobile communication standard in the world commercial, 5gnr testing and more and more popular, for colleges and universities and prototype verification developers, it is expensive to purchase signal source and spectrum analyzer to input 5gnr verification. Relatively speaking, USRP can perfectly match the requirements of such users.
According to the physical layer characteristics of 5gnr, USRP can be perfectly adapted, especially for sub6g band. The commercial 5g mobile networks in all countries are within 6GHz. The RF front-end of USRP can completely cover this frequency band. Meanwhile, for the signal bandwidth, the maximum bandwidth of 5gnr is 100MHz. The generation and analysis bandwidth of USRP are far higher than this standard. The downlink signal channel of 5gnr physical layer mainly verifies SSB / PDSCH / PDCCH (coreset) / csi-rs and dm-rs parameters in the signal channel, while the uplink mainly verifies PUCCH / reach and corresponding dm-rs parameters.
As mentioned above, USRP can analyze the modulation signal generated by 5gnr baseband signal, taking downlink channel as an example. This paper introduces the description of 5gnr toolbox based on MATLAB. Taking SSB signal generation as an example, there are PSS, PbCH and dm-rs signals in SSB. If 5gnr toolbox is used, all kinds of signals can be defined.
