The SDR-LW 3980 is the latest 8-channel high-performance SDR (Software Defined Radio) standalone device launched by Wuhan Luoguang Electronics Co., Ltd. It consists of an onboard processor, FPGA, and RF front-end. The FPGA uses the resource-rich, user-programmable Xilinx MPSoC ZU11EG. This SDR device comes with the Ubuntu system and integrates applications like GNU Radio.
The Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC features a scalable 64-bit processor, with an APU for application processing, an RPU for real-time processing, and a programmable logic platform that includes a GPU. It combines real-time control with soft and hard engines for graphics, video, waveform, and packet processing, enabling limitless possibilities for applications like 5G wireless, next-generation ADAS, and industrial IoT.
The SDR-LW 3980 is an ideal prototype for building a series of advanced research applications, including standalone 5G or 802.11 device emulation, development of Media Access Control (MAC) algorithms, MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) systems, heterogeneous networks, 5G transport, RF stress sampling, spectral remote sensing, cognitive radio, beamforming, and direction finding.
